The Diplomat
The polls and forecasts of the results of the general elections on 23 July were the focus of the Tertulia that The Diplomat organised yesterday, together with the Association of Foreign Diplomats (ADE), at the Hotel Meliá Madrid Princesa, and in which the guest speaker was María Martín Revuelta, Director of Communications at GAD3.
Under the title, “Early general elections: is there room for surprise?”, María Martín highlighted the results of the polls that the consultancy firm GAD3 has been conducting for different media and which point to the possibility that, after the elections, there will be a change of government.
The talk, held hours before the start of the election campaign, show was attended by some twenty diplomats from different countries, who were interested in the reasons that might lead Spaniards to vote for a particular political party.
The Tertulias of The Diplomat have been held periodically for years and deal with different aspects of Spanish politics, economy and society. Its objective is to offer foreign diplomats different approaches and points of view on the Spanish reality, under the condition of strict confidentiality of what is discussed in the room.
