Casa de Velázquez and the Instituto Francés of Madrid are joining forces to offer an exceptional concert performed by the Marseille ensemble Musicatreize at the Theatre of the Institute tomorrow Tuesday at 19.30.
As part of a programme in which the voice is the main protagonist, pieces by Gabriel Sivak -current resident of Casa de Velázquez- and Joan Magrané Figuera -resident in 2017- will be complemented by those of two other composers, among the most outstanding in the contemporary repertoire: Jean-Louis Florentz and Benjamin Britten.
The four composers all share the same interest in vocal matter, its organicity and its possibilities. In a concert of infinite nuances, a play of mirrors is established between periods and genres, allowing the 6 works presented to form a solid ensemble; a journey towards a land of contrasts that dialogue and respond to each other. Spanish, German, contemporary and ancient English, Quechua but also Ge’ez -Ethiopian liturgical language- intermingle and immerse the listener in a mosaic of sonorities based on literary sources or sacred texts. The concert is free of charge with prior reservation at this link.
