From 7 June to 4 July, the theatre company La Fura dels Baus presents its version of the international stage classic Carmina Burana, by Carl Orff, at the Teatro Calderón in Madrid.
After touring 3 continents, selling out and being seen by more than 350,000 spectators, it has become the company’s biggest success, being the show with the most performances and time on tour in its entire history. A show with live music and more than 50 artists on stage.
La Fura dels Baus has conceived a fast-paced Carmina Burana, where the spectator, through stunning scenes, special effects and even fragrances, is immersed in the forceful and visceral music of Carl Orff.
On stage, a cylinder eight metres in diameter literally envelops the musicians, while the images projected on it illustrate the work from beginning to end: a giant moon, the thaw, a floral ecstasy, a live grape harvest, taverns, singers hanging from cranes and submerged in wine, water and fire… this is Carmina Burana.
