Organised by Centro Sefarad-Israel, the Polish Embassy and the Forum Spanish-Polish Cultural Association, a performance entitled Embracing the Incomprehensible Reality, which interprets the events that took place during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, which began on 19 April 1943, will be held next Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the headquarters of Centro Sefarad-Israel (Calle Mayor, 69).
This performance, which is directed by translator Elżbieta Bortkiewicz, is based on biographies of Jewish fighters and interviews with some of the heroes of the uprising.
During this event, tenor Andrzej Budziszewski will sing songs in Yiddish and Hebrew. Two poems from Jerzy Ficowski’s book Reading of Ashes will also be read. In addition, after the performance, Polish historian Ernest Kowalczyk will introduce the audience to the theme of the exhibition Resettled. 14 Stories from the Warsaw Ghetto, on display at the Centro Sefarad-Israel’s headquarters until 17 June.
