The Centro Cultural Gabriel García Márquez in Madrid will open its doors to visitors next May. For this reason, the Colombian Embassy is inviting Colombian artists to show their work. The aim is to support the dissemination of two or more exhibitions by Colombian artists resident in Spain or Andorra between May and June; the deadline for registration is 31 March, according to the Colombian delegation.
The two main requirements for submitting proposals are to be a Colombian artist of legal age and to be resident in Spain or Andorra; the same must be met if a group of people are applying. The project must be related to the cultural diversity of Colombia and be considered within the plastic and/or visual arts. Applicants must apply by registering on a digital form and attaching a detailed report of their work.
With the opening of the Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Centre, inaugurated in August 2015 in a space annexed to the Colombian Embassy, the aim is to create a journey through a Colombia whose greatest attraction is the diversity of its people and its history.
The proposals will be evaluated by an advisory committee and those selected will be notified via email. The opening of the exhibition of the winning artists will be the first week of May and the exhibition will end on 30 June. For more information, please write to eespana@cancilleria.gov.co.
