The duo formed by the saxophonist Elisa Urrestarazu from Malaga and the pianist Cornelia Lenzin from Basel will present tomorrow Tuesday at 12 noon their recording project Basel Komponiert made up of works by composers from Basel, in a concert at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, jointly organised by the Embassy of Switzerland and the Real Academia.
The Urrestarazu-Lenzin Duo was born in 2018 on the occasion of the presentation of their project La senda de las emociones in Málaga, a multidisciplinary show that combined dance, electronics and conceptual texts with audiovisual input. In 2019 they released their first CD, Women Composer, los seres del mar, whose research work consists of unpublished transcriptions for saxophone and piano, such as Rebecca Clarke’s Sonata for viola (1919).
Committed to modern art and paying special attention to the role of women in music, they have premiered newly created works and new versions of works by Jost Meier, Marcelo Nisinman, Balz Trümpy, Inés Badalo, Eneko Vadillo and Nelly Limpuma. At the same time, they perform a wide repertoire of original works belonging to the classical saxophone canon. Free access until full capacity is reached. More information on this link.
