Next Thursday, the Embassy of Italy presents the seventh edition of Italian Design Day, what has become an annual thematic review organised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Farnesina) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture.
The event covers more than 100 countries and consists of an extensive programme of promotional activities carried out by a network of Italian embassies, consulates, foreign trade offices and cultural institutes: each year, many exhibitions become storytellers, presenting the design and creativity of Italy’s excellences.
The Italian Design Day Ambassador for the year 2023 in Spain will be the architect and designer Carlotta de Bevilacqua, CEO of Artemide. The main theme will be The quality that illuminates. The energy of design for people and the environment.
The programme of this edition will start at 9.30 a.m. with a conference at IE University, School of Architecture and Design (IE Tower, P.º de la Castellana, 259), followed at 3 p.m. by a meeting at ETSAM, Madrid School of Architecture: conference followed by a round table with Spanish architects Antonio Vela Cocido and Raquel Gutiérrez Muñoz (Avenida Juan de Herrera, 4). And it will end at 7 p.m. with another meeting open to the public (with limited capacity) at MATCOAM (c/ de Hortaleza, 63, 3rd floor). Registration is required at this link.
