As part of the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR) being held these days in Madrid, the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador, IFEMA Madrid and FITUR yesterday signed the institutional act formalising the appointment of Ecuador as a Partner Country of the 2024 International Trade Fair.
The Ecuadorian Minister of Tourism, Niels Olsen, present at the signing of the agreement, said that “Ecuador has recovered almost one hundred percent of its tourism assets from before the pandemic, as well as the turnover we had. It is a wonderful country, the country of the four worlds: the wonderful land, the coast, the Amazon and, of course, the Galapagos Islands. Ecuador is a country that deserves to be known all over the world”.
Likewise, the minister showed his joy and pride when he broke the news of the appointment for next year, at which point the many Ecuadorians attending the FITUR stand during the event broke into exclamations of joy and applause. He thanked IFEMA for its confidence in the Ecuadorian country and announced that “we’re going to do excellent teamwork” and announced that during this year and at FITUR 2024 “we’ll be looking forward to going all out”.
Next to speak was José Vicente de los Mozos, Director of Fitur, who thanked “the trust placed in FITUR by Ecuador” and announced that given the good results that this fair is once again providing for the city of Madrid, the 2024 edition would have one more pavilion, i.e. 9 venues. “Investing in FITUR, he said, is investing in tourism and in the future”.
