The Diplomat
United States Ambassador Julissa Reynoso visited the Ronald McDonald House in Madrid, located next to the Niño Jesús University Children’s Hospital, on December 23rd, to personally learn about the work of the Ronald McDonald Children’s Foundation, which works day in and day out to keep families close to their hospitalized children.
During the visit, the US Marines stationed at the Embassy delivered more than 300 toys to the children of the House and the hospital itself, as part of the Toys for Tots initiative, a solidarity action that celebrates its 75th anniversary and is conceived and developed by the Marine Corps to bring toys to millions of children.
The toys were donated by Embassy staff, students and families of the American School Madrid, as well as other members of the American community living in Spain. The event was attended by the president of the Ronald McDonald Children’s Foundation, Blanca Moreno, and its director, Jose Antonio Garcia.
