Until the 12th of February, Casa de México presents the exhibition Flor Garduño. The construction of an instant, made up of 69 works by one of the most outstanding Mexican photographers today. It presents works that the artist has developed over more than three decades, including landscape and portraiture.
The selection includes animal scenes and still lifes, images of the body and female nudes, domestic and rural scenes, portraits, landscapes and architecture. Each of the works shows Flor Garduño’s ability to construct compositions, as well as her mastery in the handling of natural light and the care of printing, both in the darkroom and in digital processes.
With this exhibition, the Spanish public is presented with a set of photographs of the highest quality that reflect the concerns and multiple interests of Flor Garduño through a variety of genres and themes that invite the viewer to enter worlds that range from the real to the dreamlike.
Flor Garduño (1957) is a Mexican artist and photographer. She studied visual arts at the San Carlos Academy of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where she focused on the search for structural aspects of form and space. Through her photographic work she explores the profound reality of the Mexican countryside, dabbling in still life. Likewise, the female nude, the portrait, architecture and the perpetual search for the subtle frontiers of the imaginary are recurrent in his creations.
