This afternoon at 7 p.m., at the headquarters of the Embassy of Greece (Avenida de Doctor Arce, 24), the Spanish edition of the acclaimed Greek novel The Book of Katerina, by the Greek writer Auguste Corteau, will be presented by the publishing house Avizor. Attendance is free until full capacity is reached.
In this novel, Auguste Corteau imagines the inner life of his own mother, observing with wit and earthy humour the saga of the ups and downs of her extended family in the city of Thessaloniki over three generations. From early poverty to opulence and aspirations to greatness, Katerina drags her husband and son into the chaos of her life: illnesses are hidden, siblings fight for love and attention, while insensitive husbands and unwanted children tear at the family history.
