Korean Ambassador Bahk Sahnghoon awarded the winners of the Korean introductory video contest at the Korean Embassy last Friday.
My Embassy initiated the contest last year,” said the Korean Ambassador, “with the aim of giving Spanish citizens the opportunity to pay more attention and gain a deeper understanding of Korea. Participation this year has been very broad. As the title of the contest suggests, participants have shown ‘the Korea they have discovered’ in different ways.”
“Koreans have a special affection for Spain, Bahk Sahnghoon stressed. So much so that in 2019, just before the pandemic, more than 630,000 Koreans visited Spain. That same year, around 30,000 Spaniards travelled to Korea. In some ways, Korea is still a relatively unknown country in Spain. However, I am convinced that quite a few Spaniards will visit Korea in the future, thanks to the interest and affection of friends like you.”
“As Ambassador,” Bahk Sahnghoon concluded, “I am happy and proud that relations between Korea and Spain are moving forward at such a rapid pace, and I look forward to further strengthening the friendship, understanding and mutual exchange between our two peoples. In this regard, I greatly appreciate your efforts to translate your interest in Korea into actions that further strengthen bilateral relations.”
A total of 67 entries were submitted to the competition and the list of winners in the 2nd edition of The Korea I’ve Discovered competition can be found here.
