The Diplomat
Accompanying the visit of the Secretary of Industry and Productive Development, José Ignacio de Mendiguren, the Argentine Embassy in Spain will develop in November an intense work agenda on productive development and Industry 4.0.
According to a press release from the diplomatic representation, the planned agenda includes formal meetings with the authorities and the main sector referents of the communities of the Basque Country, Valencia and Madrid.
The Embassy will accompany the delegation arriving from Argentina headed by Mendiguren, which on the 3rd and 4th has scheduled an institutional meeting with the lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, as well as rounds and meetings with the Agency for the Internationalisation of Basque companies, the Chamber of Commerce of the Basque Country, the Basque Hydrogen Corridor made up of 60 companies in the sector and the delegation that has under its orbit the Industry 4.0 programme and the digital transformation, entrepreneurship and economic development of the Basque Government.
Subsequently, on the 7th and 8th, the National Congress of Connected Industry 4.0 will be held in Valencia where -after the participation of South Korea and France-, Argentina is the Guest Country, which highlights -the note indicates- “the recognition that our industry has for Spain in knowledge-based services and the special connection that exists in this sector between the two countries.
The inauguration will be attended, together with Secretary Mendiguren and the Ambassador of Argentina, Ricardo Alfonsín, the President of the Valencian Community, Ximo Puig, and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto.
This international benchmark event, which brings together 190 speakers and more than 1,000 participants, is a platform for Argentina to offer the world its opportunities and potential in strategic sectors of its economy, particularly in terms of technology linked to industry.
Finally, in the Community of Madrid, the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations (CEOE), the Secretary of State for Trade, through ICEX Spain Export and Investment and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce together with the Embassy of Argentina, will attend, on the 8th, at five o’clock in the afternoon, a business meeting aimed at Spanish companies with interests and/or presence in Argentina.
The Embassy’s note stresses that this business meeting “is an excellent opportunity to learn about the priorities of the Argentine government, as well as to analyse those strategic sectors that offer investment potential: industry, the knowledge economy, energy, mining and agro-industry, among others”.
