Until 13 November, Madrid’s Teatro Amaya (Paseo del Gral. Martínez Campos, 9) presents the I Festival de Zarzuela y Ópera, and does so with Federico Chueca’s La Gran Vía, commemorating 135 years since its premiere in Madrid in 1886.
The company L’Operamore will premiere 4 new productions of essential titles of national and international opera such as La Gran Vía, Rigoletto, by Giuseppe Verdi; La Corte del Faraón, by Vicente Lleó, and La Revoltosa, by Ruperto Chapí. It will be a unique occasion for lovers of bell canto and for those who have not yet been initiated into the world of opera.
For these four works, 25 soloists specialising in the genre and with recognised professional careers will perform. The Orquesta de Cámara Dolores Marco will provide the music for the zarzuelas under the musical direction of Monserrat Font Marco, while the Fuoco Sinfónica Orquesta will provide the music for the opera, under the musical direction of Bauti Carmena.
