From 13 October to 5 November, Korean actress Youn Yuh-jung stars in the 14th edition of the Korean Film Festival in Spain with a travelling film series in four Spanish cities.
The Cine Yelmo Comedia in Barcelona, the Cine Yelmo Ideal in Madrid, the Teatro Filarmónica in Oviedo and the Cine Yelmo Meridiano in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host this festival dedicated to the charismatic Youn Yuh-jung, the first South Korean actress to win an Oscar in 2021 for her role in Minari, Historia de mi familia.
The festival, organised by the Centro Cultural Coreano in Spain in collaboration with CINE YELMO and SACO (Oviedo Contemporary Audiovisual Week) and with the support of the KOFIC (Korean Film Council) starts with a review of the career of the Korean actress and the most emblematic roles in her filmography. The film festival not only celebrates the success of the actress, but also pays tribute to Korean cinema as a whole, bringing together its different trends over the decades and taking a look at its history and culture. The complete programme of the festival can be consulted on the website of the Centro Cultural Coreano.
