Since 13 September, those attending the Todo Cine Todo Dominicana 2022 Festival have enjoyed the best Dominican film productions of recent years.
Candela, by director Andrés Farías; La fiera y la fiesta, by Laura Amelia Guzmán and Israel Cárdenas; Liborio, by Nino Martínez Sosa; Dossier de Ausencias, by director Rolando Díaz; Vals de Santo Domingo, by director Tatiana Fernández Geara; Carajita, the film selected to represent the Dominican Republic at the 37th edition of the Goya Awards, directed by Silvia Schnicer and Ulises Porra; Una película sobre parejas, by directors Natalia Cabral and Oriol Estrada, and Rafaela, by Tito Rodríguez, were the feature films that were screened in different venues. After the screenings, colloquiums were held, where the audience had the opportunity to talk with the directors, actors and actresses of the films, in a space where visions and experiences were exchanged.
On Wednesday, September 14th, a discussion was held at Casa América on Dominican identities in local production: visibility and representation, with the participation of Marianna Vargas Gurilieva, director of the DGCINE, and the Dominican directors attending the Festival. The panel was moderated by Centro León.
On Thursday 15 September, actresses Judith Rodríguez and Sarah Jorge and actor Vicente Santos held a discussion with students of the Performing Arts at the TAI University School of the Arts. After the colloquium, the actor led an acting workshop in front of the camera.
On Friday 16 September, the public gathered in the Sala Azcona of the Cineteca to enjoy the film Rafaela, by director Tito Rodríguez, a screening that closed the eleventh edition of the Todo Cine Todo Dominicana 2022. After the film, the audience talked with the protagonist, actress Judith Rodríguez, where they exchanged views on juvenile delinquency.
