In September, three shows that share a clown’s soul, as well as a very high and contrasted artistic level with the artists Luis Bermejo, Pepe Viyuela and Pablo Rosal, will coincide in the Teatro del Barrio.
El minuto del payaso, by Luis Bermejo, will run from 8 to 11 September; Encerrona, by Pepe Viyuela (in the photo), which can be seen from 19 to 26 September; and Castroponce. Teoría y praxis para una vanguardia del Siglo XXI, by Pablo Rosal, which will be performed on Sundays 11 and 25 September.
In a society that overvalues success, the clown represents the clumsy, loser, failed human side. It is a vindication of fragility, of the right to wonder, to be overcome by circumstances. It is something to be very much in his favour. Three shows crossed by humour, irony and subtlety, which are used as tools to share truths about the absurdity of our lives or to vindicate beauty. And to have a good laugh, of course. Tickets for all three shows can be purchased at this link.
