Defence Minister Margarita Robles warned yesterday that intelligence services do not rule out Russian attacks anywhere in Ukraine in a “long, very difficult and very cruel” war, including cuts in gas supplies to Europe.
“The intelligence services do not rule out that Ukraine could be the victim of any Russian attack, any Russian attack, anywhere,” she said in response to questions from the press during his visit to the 35th Air Force Wing, based in Getafe, a unit involved in sending material to Poland to help the Ukrainian government.
Robles stressed that, after six months, the war in Ukraine has “changed scenario”. “The threat from Russia is permanent, the intelligence services of all countries are warning that Putin’s attacks could return to Kiev and other areas”, he acknowledged, adding that this is why “solidarity in support of Ukraine is so important”.
