The Diplomat
The Estonian ambassador to Spain, Mariin Ratnik, will leave her post this summer after being appointed by her country’s government as the new secretary of state for economy, trade and development.
Mariin Ratnik took over the Estonian Embassy in Madrid in August 2019, after serving as ambassador to Belgium and to the OSCE in Vienna. She was also Foreign Policy Advisor to Estonian Prime Minister Jüri Ratas and is a specialist in economics, European and multilateral affairs.
Interestingly, Mariin Ratnik replaces Andrés Rundu, who also served as ambassador to Spain from 2004 to 2009.
