As part of the exhibition Frida Kahlo: wings to fly, on the 15th and 16th of July at 19.30, the multi-purpose hall of Casa de México presents the play Obra Frida. Viva la vida.
The action, performed by Mexican actress Ursula Murayama, takes place on a Day of the Dead in the kitchen of the Casa Azul in Coyoacán. While Frida cooks and waits for her guests, she evokes Diego, Trotsky, Breton, Rockefeller, Paris, New York, the memory of the accident that left her with so many physical scars… and the presence of death inevitably arises. Humour, laughter, tequila, paintings, his “cuatachones”, aromas, his memories, his fears, his pains and, fundamentally, his joie de vivre are a constant throughout the work.
