In the framework of the Avenir scholarship programme, 42 Spanish students have obtained a scholarship of excellence to finance their mobility to France for the academic year 2022-2023.
These scholarships are managed by the French Embassy, in collaboration with the association Diálogo. The award ceremony for the 8th edition of the scholarships, which could not be held the last two years, took place last Friday at the French Institute in Madrid.
This year, the French Embassy in Spain is funding 16 scholarships: 6 undergraduate scholarships (including 3 scholarships for baccalaureate students), 6 Masters and 4 PhD scholarships. 8 French schools -HEC Paris, Sciences Po Toulouse, ESPOL, INSA Lyon, INSA Toulouse, EDHEC, Institut Paul Bocuse and ISIT- have awarded 11 scholarships. The Spanish partner universities -Universidad de Alcalá de Henares, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universidad del País Vasco, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Universidad Pompeu Fabra- awarded 11 scholarships. Finally, BNP Paribas, Carrefour, Crédit Agricole and ENGIE funded 4 scholarships in total.
Each year, the Avenir Excellence Scholarship programme for France rewards the efforts and merit of brilliant Spanish and Franco-Spanish students. It is evidence of the close ties of cooperation between France and Spain in the academic and scientific fields. This flagship programme of the French Embassy’s University and Scientific Cooperation Service has been growing steadily. From a dozen grants awarded in the first edition, the programme (which brought together 6 partners at the beginning) has grown considerably. In this 8th edition of the programme, 35 partners are participating, with a total of 42 scholarships awarded.
