Madrid celebrates K-Week, a week full of activities related to South Korean culture, gastronomy and traditions, from tomorrow Friday until 14 July. Exhibitions, concerts and raffles will transport the public to the heart of this exotic Asian country full of history, beauty and tradition.
The main activities of K-Week, designed by the Korea Tourism Organization, will take place at the Neptune Palace. This space has 2,074 m2 and a capacity for 600 people. Admission will be free of charge. In addition, the festival will be streamed on Twitch, so that those who cannot attend in person can also enjoy the artistic exhibitions and workshops.
Among other events, there will be a Taekwondo exhibition, a musical show with a daily show for the public to enter and discover Korean folk music, an interactive game in which everyone can participate through a giant screen that will be installed in the venue. During K-Week, group choreographies of K-Pop dancers will be shown. There will be two shows a day to get to know this type of Korean dance that has become popular among young people. There will be an exhibition of photographs that will lead visitors to learn more about the landscapes, monuments and cities of South Korea. There will also be workshops to learn about the Korean alphabet and calligraphy, in which attendees will receive their name in this language as a souvenir. There will also be K-Beauty workshops in the morning and afternoon on Korean skin care and make-up, with a beauty area with Korean products by “KOSSmetics”. There will be an exhibition of Hanbok, a traditional costume brought from Korea. It will also be possible to try on the Hanbok and immortalise the moment at the festival photocall. Traditional Korean board games such as Yutnori, dalgona and Ttakji Chigi; Korean knot workshop; Korean dessert tasting; DJ from Kiss FM radio station will be playing Korean music of different styles; tourist information about the destination and booking travel packages with special prices designed by different operators to visit South Korea.
