Next Thursday 7th July at 19.30 in the Multipurpose Hall of Casa de México in Madrid, the second concert of Emerge. Indie MX, the first meeting of Mexican indie music, with the singer-songwriter, session musician, actor and producer Royer Rodríguez as guest star.
In 2014 Royer Rodriguez officially began his solo career in the city of Puebla, playing in different parts of Mexico and South America. In 2016 he moved to Mexico City to try his luck and was quickly and warmly received by both the scene and the public in the capital. In 2017 he joined the Venezuelan band Stereografía as a guitarist in Mexico City. After eight months of work in the studio, in April of the same year he released his first album, Hedonista, which would open his way in the Mexican music scene. In 2019 he moved to Madrid for personal reasons and due to some musical proposals. That same year, in October, he went into the studio to record his second album. In January 2020 he released Frente a mí, recorded in El Tesoro records (Madrid, Spain). In 2021 he released his third album: Dopado, which he will present at the concert.
Indie music comes from the English term “independent music”, which has its origins in independent record production, produced and recorded outside of the major record labels and mass commercial circuits. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
