The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, received yesterday at La Moncloa the Ibero-American Secretary General (SEGIB), Andrés Allamand, with whom he discussed the main challenges of the region, the consequences of the war in Ukraine, with special attention to the food crisis, and the ecological transition as a way to combat the effects of climate change that seriously affects the countries of the region.
During the meeting, as reported by Moncloa, the President of the Government conveyed to SEGIB the “constructive and unquestionable support of Spain” in this new stage and the Government’s commitment to the next Ibero-American Summit, to be held in March 2023 in the Dominican Republic with the slogan Together towards a fair and sustainable Ibero-America. At Sánchez’s proposal, according to the same source, work will be done during the Summit to draw up an Ibero-American Charter on digital rights.
