Tomorrow Tuesday at 1 p.m. the Real Fábrica de Tapices celebrates its Third Centenary at its facilities at Calle Fuenterrabía, 2, in Madrid, where the exhibition of the works selected in the Competition for Tapestry Cards and Carpet Sketches, which was held last December to mark the anniversary, will be inaugurated.
The exhibition will bring together more than 50 works. Among them, those submitted by the nine finalists in the categories of tapestry cardboard and carpet sketches with Turkish and Spanish knots, as well as another 40 works shortlisted by the Jury, chaired by Jaime Lavagne, curator and appraiser of works of art, which brought together prestigious gallery owners, professors, university doctors and art experts.
This exhibition brings to a close the competition, which was held with the aim of promoting new designs and offering emerging and established artists the opportunity to take part in this project and transfer their work to a new format. The exhibition can be visited free of charge in the museum gallery of the Real Fábrica de Tapices from 7 to 12 June.
