The Instituto Italiano de Cultura of Madrid, in collaboration with the Círculo de Bellas Artes, and under the auspices of the Italian Embassy, presents tomorrow Friday at 7 p.m. in the Teatro Fernando de Rojas of the Círculo, an extraordinary concert with two great artists, Maria Pia Piscitelli (in the photo) and Maurizio Colacicchi.
Accompanied on the piano by Maestro Maurizio Colacicchi, an expert in Italian and Spanish vocal music, Maria Pia Piscitelli will perform some of the most famous arias from the Italian operatic repertoire – taken from operas by Puccini, Giordano, Cilea – together with masterpieces of Italian vocal chamber music from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
If the Neapolitan romanzas and songs by Francesco Paolo Tosti are already well known to the public, less well known are the countless melodies – songs, ariettas, romanzas, mattinate, scherzi – that the great Italian opera composers themselves, such as Bellini, Rossini, Donizetti, Ponchielli, Puccini, Mascagni, Leoncavallo, among others, have composed for a more intimate setting, “imagining” them for voice and piano only.
Free entrance until full capacity is reached (maximum 2 invitations per person): they can be collected at the “Cine Estudio” box office from 5pm to 9pm.
