David Ungi, suspected of involvement in the 2015 murder of an 18-year-old man, was arrested on Thursday in the town of Coín (Málaga). He is the third fugitive from British justice arrested in recent days and who was included in the list of the most wanted by the Spanish and British authorities, according to the UK Embassy in Madrid.
Ungi was arrested on Thursday night as he entered a gym in the Malaga town of Coín in a joint operation with Spanish security forces, the British National Crime Agency and other British police forces.
Before him, alleged murderer Callum Halpin was arrested in Portugal on Monday and suspected drug trafficker Alex Male was arrested at Lisbon airport on Saturday.
The fugitive appeared before a court in Malaga after his arrest and was remanded in custody pending extradition.
Ungi is a very dangerous person and his arrest is very good news for both the Spanish and British people, said Steve Reynolds, head of the British agency in Spain.
