The Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid is once again celebrating Book Day, one of the most important cultural events of the year, with the 26th Continuous Reading of Don Quixote, which will take place in person from today until Saturday 23 April.
For forty-eight hours the adventures of Don Quixote, one of the most important works, not only in Spanish literature, but also in European culture, will be read uninterruptedly, and its open nature provides citizens with a lively forum for participation.
The reading will begin this evening at 6 p.m. and will end at around 2 p.m. on Saturday. Important personalities from the world of politics and culture, together with the 2021 Cervantes Prize winner, Cristina Peri Rossi, as well as all the public who year after year throng the Sala de Columnas, which has been converted into an enormous space for reading and meeting.
