The Andalusian public company for foreign promotion Extenda has launched Club Asia, a new tool to facilitate access to China and the rest of the Asian continent for companies in the region.
A group of 20 Andalusian firms make up the new Club Asia, the latest initiative of Extenda-Andalusia Export and Foreign Investment (under the Junta de Andalucía) to bring companies closer to the opportunities of this continent. The presentation took place in early April in the Bay of Algeciras and was chaired by the director of the Extenda office in China, Manuel León, according to Extenda and the Spain-China Council Foundation.
The organizations and companies that are part of Club Asia are: Iturri, Aceitunas Torrent, González Byass, Torres y Ribelles, Pérez Barquero, Cárnicas Cohiver, Claroflex, Meltio, Total Terminal International Algeciras International Olivarera, Gourmet Lifestyle, Metramar Algeciras, Zener Marine Elevator Services, Green Gold Olive Oil Company, Hudisa, Hortaland Med and Ritec.
Asia is emerging as the continent with the best economic growth prospects. In 2021, Asia was the main destination for Andalusian exports, 32% of the total and with a turnover of 3,610 million -the best historical record-, which contributed decisively to the export record of 34,552 million with which Andalusia closed the 2021 financial year. Andalusia is Spain’s second largest exporter to Asia, with 12.7% of national sales, only preceded by Catalonia.
