With the aim of promoting multilingualism and highlighting European citizenship, the French Embassy in Spain is holding the third edition of the PORTAVOZ photography competition until 9 May.
The competition is open to students in the 4th year of ESO, 1st and 2nd year of Bachillerato at a Spanish school, who are studying French and aspire to promote respect for diversity as a value of coexistence in Europe. Students from Italy, Portugal and the Czech Republic may also take part. The deadline for receipt of images is 9 May, after which the jury will choose a selection of 10 photographs that will enter the competition at European level.
There is no limitation on the style of expression in terms of the type of photograph, but they must ensure that the photograph is unpublished, has not been entered in any competition and includes a short text/title in 5 languages, based on the theme “Building Europe” through multilingualism. In parallel to the competition, young people will be able to enjoy photography workshops given in Spain by Eduardo Nave, sponsor of the 2022 edition, Rosell Meseguer and Jorge López Muñoz, a unique opportunity to familiarise themselves with the practice of photography.
All the projects will be published online and will be accessible to the public throughout the competition. The best photos will be exhibited in a travelling exhibition. The most successful and original productions will be rewarded with books, mobile phones and a language stay. More information about the competition can be found here.
