The Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain (FCJE) has summoned representatives of the Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and Muslim confessions to perform “a common prayer for peace in Ukraine and the end of conflicts around the world.”
“This year 2022 is an unusual phenomenon: the confluence in the month of April of Passover, Orthodox Easter, Holy Week and Ramadan, important religious holidays for the monotheistic confessions,” the FCJE stated in a press release.
For this reason and, “with the purpose of getting to know each other better”, the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain has summoned the representatives of the Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and Muslim confessions to a meeting “in which each one will explain the foundations of their celebration”, it continued.
“The religious representatives of the confessions will also hold a common prayer for peace in Ukraine and an end to conflicts around the world,” the FCJE added. At the end of the event – which will take place next Tuesday, April 5, at 7 p.m., at the Intercontinental Hotel in Madrid – all those present will accompany “the Muslim delegation to break the Ramadan fast with an aperitif,” it announced.
