The Executive Director of the EU-LAC International Foundation, Adrián Bonilla Soria, and the Secretary General of the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), Andrés Allamand, have signed a framework cooperation agreement with the aim of joining efforts to strengthen integration and collaboration between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean.
Based on shared goals on mutual interests and challenges, both institutions will work to generate new impulses around the dialogue that unites the countries of the two regions, says the SEGIB in a statement.
Among the activities specified in the agreement are the organisation and implementation of congresses, seminars and workshops, as well as the publication of joint publications of interest to both parties.
The two entities will also exchange documents and information relevant to the bi-regional partnership, such as publications, databases and opportunities for collaboration.
The agreement also provides for the visibility and dissemination of the activities of the counterpart, through the virtual calendar, website, social networks or respective newsletters.
The communiqué points out that, for both SEGIB and the EU-LAC Foundation, committed to multilateral interaction and collaboration, the signing of this agreement is an excellent opportunity to bring the two regions closer together through a range of instruments and joint activities ranging from the organisation and implementation of conferences, seminars and workshops, to the production of publications and information relevant to the bi-regional partnership in 2022.
