The Fundación Scherzo presents the first concert of its 20th Ciclo de Jóvenes Intérpretes on 16 February at 19.30 in the Chamber Hall of the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, by the Ukrainian pianist Dmytro Choni.
Choni has become a benchmark in the pianism of his generation after winning in 2018 one of the most interesting editions of the Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition. To the concert, this pianist brings a varied programme, mapping the great peaks of the piano repertoire from German Romanticism, to contemporary music. Debussy, Ligeti, Schumann, Scriabin, Prokofiev, Thomas Adès and Ginastera make up a colourful palette – and a good dose of virtuosity – that will reflect the great technical and musical qualities that Dmytro Choni has to offer.
