The Diplomat
The ambassadors of Cuba and the United States coincided yesterday at the presentation ceremony at the Royal Palace of the Letters of Credence of the new heads of mission accredited to Spain, although they did not meet. The ambassadors of Ireland, India, San Marino and Trinidad and Tobago also presented their accreditations.
The first to present himself to King Felipe VI was the Ambassador of Ireland, Frank Joseph Smyth. After him, following the order of their arrival in Spain, were the Ambassadors of Cuba, Marcelino Medina González; India, Dinesh Kumar Patnaik; United States, Julissa Reynoso; San Marino, Luca Brandi; and Trinidad and Tobago, Colin Michael Connelly.
After the presentation of the Letters of Credence, the King spent a few minutes with each of the new ambassadors.
This was the second ceremony of this kind this year. On 13 January, Don Felipe had already received the credentials of six other ambassadors, those of Luxembourg, Finland, Egypt, Algeria, Indonesia and Armenia.
