The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) has launched the call for applications for the MAEC-AECID Scholarship programs for the 2022-2023 academic year, for which citizens from Latin American, African and Asian countries may apply.
With 75 editions to its credit, the new edition of the MAEC-AECID Scholarships integrates different programs but with a common objective: “to encourage training in the different labor and artistic fields of citizens from Spanish Cooperation partner countries,” the Agency informed in a press release.
From January 31 to April 8, 2022, the deadlines will be open to apply for the different scholarship programs for training and learning in certain cultural, artistic, scientific and academic disciplines offered by the AECID for the 2022-2023 academic year. The total amount of the scholarships is 4,745,945.00 euros.
The call, published last December 29 in the Official State Gazette (BOE), includes five programs, among which the postgraduate scholarships (MASTER) for the training of public employees from Latin America and the Philippines and the Africa-MED scholarships for the African continent and the Middle East stand out. Both programs are part of the bilateral strategies of the V Master Plan for Spanish Cooperation.
In addition, the call includes scholarships for the Inter-University Master’s Degree in Diplomacy and International Relations of the Diplomatic School of Spain, scholarships for musical training of excellence at the Queen Sofia School of Music (ESMRS) and scholarships for master’s degrees in lexicography and collaborative training stays at the headquarters of the Academies associated with the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE).
This call is part of the initiatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, through the AECID, to promote the training of human capital, both of the interested persons themselves and of the institutions of origin. “The Spanish Cooperation scholarships contribute with their programs to the approach to development as a State policy that promotes the transfer of knowledge, the harnessing of capacities and the creation of opportunities within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda,” added the AECID.
