Argentina will be the “Guest Country” at the fifth National Congress Connected Industry 4.0, which will be held in 2022 in Valencia and will address the challenges of digital transformation in industry.

The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism has officially extended the invitation to the Embassy of Argentina in Madrid through the Secretary General of Industry and SMEs, Raül Blanco, in a telematic act in which participated, apart from Blanco, the Argentine ambassador, Ricardo Alfonsín, and the Undersecretary of Knowledge Economy of Argentina, María Apólito, as reported by the Ministry itself.

During the telematic act, Ambassador Alfonsín declared that for Argentina it is “an honor to receive this invitation”, which represents “a demonstration of the great current moment of the strategic alliance between Spain and Argentina, and one more proof of the insertion of our country in the world”. “Argentina is a global benchmark in industry 4.0, digitalization and knowledge economy,” he added. For his part, Blanco said that “Argentina is the perfect country to open this event to Latin America because of the efforts they are making in this area and how aligned the action measures and objectives of both countries are.”

In addition, Minister Reyes Maroto personally sent a letter to the Argentinean Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas, stating that it would be a great honor to have Argentina as a “Guest Country”, according to the Argentinean Embassy in a press release. According to Maroto, these congresses are one of the most important tools to disseminate and raise awareness among SMEs about the challenges posed by digital transformation.

The Ministry of Industry organizes annually the CIC40, “a reference event in Spain with international vocation on the digital transformation of the industry” and that, in the previous edition, had more than 3,300 registered participants. According to Industry, the figure of the “Guest Country” is “key to the international projection of the event”. In the two previous editions, the “Guest Countries” were South Korea and France, while Argentina will be the first Latin American country to be distinguished with this honor.
