“Sharing Culture” is the new line of educational dissemination, together with the Diplomatic Missions, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, through the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, in its continuous work for the promotion of culture abroad.

This project aims to deliver, through donations to public institutions, the tools for the particular knowledge of Chile, in areas such as literature, geography and history, among others, with the commitment to reach the local community in schools, libraries and cultural centres of the Community of Madrid.

Thanks to the collaboration offered by the Oficina del Español and the synergies generated by its director, Antonio Cantó, together with the Embassy of Chile, the objective of this project will become a reality, bringing Chile closer to thousands of people in Madrid.

The press presentation of this event will take place on 30 November at 12 noon, in the Simón Bolívar Hall of Casa de América, with the participation of its director, Enrique Ojeda Vila, who will present the event. On behalf of the Embassy of Chile, Ambassador Roberto Ampuero Espinoza will address the media, together with the authorities of the Community of Madrid: the Regional Minister for Education, Universities, Science and Spokesperson, Enrique Ossorio Crespo, and the Director of the Spanish Language Office, Antonio Cantó.

This initiative, which has already begun in Latin American countries such as Colombia, Honduras, Peru and Brazil, among others, will also be replicated in other continents, with Spain being the first country in Europe to receive the works Viaje ilustrado de Magallanes, Encuentro entre tres Mundos, Poesía Completa de Pablo Neruda, Prosa y Poesía Escolar, by Gabriela Mistral, and Obra Reunida de Gabriela Mistral. The titles, produced in collaboration with the National Library of Chile, make up the first consignment, totalling 500 copies, which will serve teachers, students and readers in general, to begin or broaden their knowledge of Chilean culture and identity.
