In collaboration with Aural Gallery, the Centro Cultural Coreano presents until 16 January 2022 the virtual exhibition OGAMDO: Five Scenes of Korean Art, which explores the concept of “new Koreanness” or new Korean identity.
This exhibition, curated by A-Lounge and presented through the “Traveling Korean Arts” programme by KOFICE, consists of 21 contemporary artworks of various genres including painting, video, installation and object art. In the words of the exhibition curator Yu Tonghyun, the title of the exhibition, Ogamdo is inspired by a series of 15 Korean poems written by Yi Sang, which broke new ground in the world of Korean literature. The exhibition attempts to capture what Yi Sang had dared to show many years ago: a new perspective on art. The exhibition is approached from five perspectives: “New Tradition”, “Montage of the City”, “Reconstruction of Culture”, “Everyday Affairs” and “Landscape through the Mind’s Eye”.
