Diplomat Alfonso Tena García has been appointed director of Indra’s Institutional Relations to fill the vacancy left by Íñigo de Palacio after his appointment as ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, according to The Diplomat.
Alfonso Tena was until recently the second-in-command at the Spanish Embassy in Paris and was previously ambassador to Vietnam.
A graduate in political science, he entered the diplomatic service in 1986, and since then has been posted in Warsaw, Washington, Montpellier and Lima.
In addition, in the central services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he has been, among other things, Deputy Director General for Andean Community Countries and Deputy Director General for the Coordination of Community Cooperation Programmes in the Directorate General for International Economic Relations.
