Juan Manuel Serrano, Chairman of the Correos Group, on Thursday presented to businessmen and members of the Business Council Alliance for Ibero-America (CEAPI), the transformation that Correos is carrying out both in the field of internationalisation and in its business philosophy, with the aim of becoming an economic dynamiser and collaborator of different companies.
Serrano reported that Correos is firmly committed to diversification, digitalisation, internationalisation and improving its efficiency, as well as to social and environmental sustainability and job creation, without neglecting the challenges of its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For the President of CEAPI, Núria Vilanova, these projects represent “an index of progress and commitment to the development of a better, more responsible and fairer Latin America”.
During the event, the president of Correos explained that in order to carry out this transformation process, the company has set out a series of guidelines that will determine its activity in the coming years. Increasing the international presence of the Correos Group and adapting the organisation and management model to new businesses and operations are two of these challenges that will mark a before and after in its relationship with the Latin American region. The company wants to contribute to boosting the Spanish economy, helping the business fabric to take advantage of the strategic situation to become a logistics hub between Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America.
Similarly, the Group aspires to consolidate its position as a key company for the structuring of Spain, reducing the differences between rural and urban areas, relying on its service in more than 6,000 rural services and more than 2,300 product and service centres that make up 8,381 service points in Spain. And with a specific action plan, already underway, to help alleviate the problem of depopulation.
“The expected growth of Correos will be essential to promote the internationalisation of the group, as well as to become an essential actor for the sector at a global level based on the links between Latin America and Europe”, emphasised Núria Vilanova after Juan Manuel Serrano’s speech. The president of CEAPI thanked the Correos Group for its work in this community that “believes and believes in Latin America
