ICEX Spain Export and Investment has launched the ICEX LOCALIZA program, a call for aid endowed with two million euros that aims to promote the new implementation or consolidation in third markets of those Spanish SMEs that present a viable and quality project.
“In short, this program offers a lever of support for the beginning or the consolidation of their presence in the international markets towards which they project their activity”, informed the entity in a press release.
The beneficiaries of the program will be SMEs that have their own Spanish brand, both for the domestic market and in the target market of the implementation; that do not have any debt with ICEX, that comply with Article 13 of the General Law on Subsidies that regulates the requirements of the beneficiaries and that are not in a situation of a company in crisis. The priority markets in the ICEX LOCALIZA 2021 Program are the United Kingdom, Asia and countries of the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean.
If the project submitted for support includes a subsidiary established in the target market, it must be owned in more than 50% of its capital by the applicant company and potential beneficiary. In the case of a branch or representative office, it must be owned by the applicant company.
The subsidy will be 50% of the expenses considered eligible for support, with a maximum limit of 30,000 euros per beneficiary, and a maximum of three projects may be submitted by the same company for support. The projects submitted may belong to any sector of activity, without prejudice to the priorities that may be established in each call for proposals. They can be carried out through any of the following figures: subsidiary, branch or representative office, not being necessary that they are constituted at the time of submitting the application, but it must be documented to have initiated the process.
