Riccardo Guariglia, Ambassador of Italy to the Kingdom of Spain and the Principality of Andorra, attended last Thursday the lyric recital of the Italian Ensemble “Umberto Giordano” at the National Auditorium of Andorra.
The event, sponsored by the Italian Embassy and the Government of Andorra and organised by the Italian Institute of Culture in Barcelona and the Honorary Consulate of Italy in Andorra, took place in the presence of the Principality’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, María Ubach Font, and the Minister of Culture, Silvia Riva González.
Ambassador Guariglia pointed out that “for the first time, after many years, an Italian cultural event will take place in Andorra, as a result of the excellent bilateral relationship between the two countries recently. Cultural exchanges like tonight’s help to gradually restore a situation of normality and strengthen the friendly relations between our countries”.
The Ensemble “Umberto Giordano”, a lyrical chamber ensemble composed of Dario Di Vietri, tenor, Luca Grassi, baritone, Giuseppina Piunti, soprano, Donato Della Vista, piano and Dino De Palma, violin, performed pieces and arias from the repertoire of Puccini, Mascagni, Verdi, Cilea, Paganini.
A meeting between the Italian ambassador and Minister Maria Ubach Font, who travelled to Rome on 13 July to meet with Minister Di Maio, was scheduled for yesterday, Friday, as a testimony to the excellent state of bilateral relations.
