Public employees of the General State Administration posted abroad, as well as their family members living with them, will be able to get vaccinated against COVID-19 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, taking advantage of their trips to Spain.
This was announced on Tuesday by the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, in a letter sent to all employees of his department, which he himself announced yesterday, during the swearing in of new high-ranking officials of the Ministry.
In the letter, Albares indicates that workers travelling to Spain who have not been able to start or complete their COVID-19 vaccination in the country of destination will be able to do so at the Ministry’s International Vaccination Centre. To do so, they should make an appointment, giving their personal details or those of their family members.
The possibility of taking advantage of trips to Spain to get vaccinated was one of the demands of trade unions and diplomatic organisations, especially to meet the needs of workers who are stationed in countries where vaccination is lagging behind.
