On Sunday the 18th of July at 9:00 pm, Casa Árabe is offering a concert by the Sudanese singer Rasha, who will be accompanied by Irene Shams, Javier “Pato” Muñoz, Patxi Pascual and Raúl Rodríguez. Tickets on sale online now.
Rasha’s musical style is a fascinating amalgamation reflecting the cultural diversity she has nurtured during her long professional career. The centuries-old musical traditions of Nubian culture, the rhythms of Central Sudan, the tom-tom sounds of the African Sahel, blend with the chords of pop, jazz, Afrobeat and even flamenco. A mosaic of sounds that gives life to a new, unique and different style, yet deeply rooted in Sudanese culture. Although he sings mainly in Arabic – his native language – Rasha also performs in English, Spanish, Nubian and Creole. This polyphonic multilingualism has allowed him to perform in many countries around the world.
