The Instituto Cervantes and the Association of Families of Diplomats and Foreign Service Officers (AFDSERVEX) have signed an agreement to promote academic and cultural collaboration.
The agreement, signed last Thursday by the director of the Instituto Cervantes, Luis García Montero, and the president of the Association, Lourdes Gutiérrez, provides for the training of AFDSERVEX members as teachers of Spanish as a foreign language (ELE) with competence for certification.
According to the Association itself, the signing of the collaboration agreement is the result of six months of conversations and meetings with the Instituto Cervantes. “This agreement is a unique opportunity for our associates”, declared Lourdes Gutiérrez. “AFD continues to move forward and sign more agreements with schools, universities and institutions”, she added.
AFDSERVEX, whose headquarters are located in the Palace of Santa Cruz, is made up of spouses of all civil servants of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and civil servants of other departments of the Central Administration and other administrations, posted in Spanish representations abroad. Spouses are understood to include both married couples and legally recognized partners.
