Casa Árabe presents this evening at 8 p.m. on its Youtube channel the interview with the film directors Tarzan and Arab Nasser, on the occasion of the Spanish premiere of their film Gaza Mon Amour, last Friday. In Arabic, with Spanish subtitles.
The Nasser brothers burst onto the film scene in 2013 with Condom Lead, followed by Dégradé (2015), premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and Gaza, Mon Amour (2020). In the interview, we will find out what it is like to shoot in the Gaza Strip, review their film career and talk about other projects made by the two brothers, such as Gazawood. Selected by Palestine to represent the country at the 2021 Oscars as Best International Film, this film was presented in competition in the Orizzonti Section of the Venice Biennale and in the Official Selection of the Toronto Film Festival, where its protagonists Salim Daw (Issa) and Hiam Abass (Siham) captivated the audience with this amusing story inspired by a real event that took place in Gaza in 2014. The film also won the Silver Spike and the Best Screenplay award at the 65th Valladolid Film Festival.
