Author: Elena Gómez de la Puerta.
Camilo Sesto. Mi última canción (Camilo Sesto. My last song) contains more than 400 pages of photographs, documents and unpublished statements by the artist himself that trace the life of one of the greatest icons of the melodic song in Spain and Latin America.
The biography is made up of two volumes that cover the personal and professional life of Camilo Sesto during his first 30 years, from his birth and adolescence in his home town of Alcoy, to the climax of his artistic career in the 1970s, as producer of the first musical in our country: Jesus Christ Superstar. Elena Gómez De La Puerta’s book traces the personal life and artistic career of Camilo Sesto from his beginnings as a rock singer in the groups Los Dayson and Los Botines, to his culmination as a star in the charts in the 1970s with his song Algo de mí. Camilo Blanes Cortés, better known around the world as Camilo Sesto, has been the best balladeer and love singer in the musical history of our country. Through the lyrics of his songs he inspired several generations of young people who were awakening to a new freedom and who saw in the artist and his compositions the mirror of their own lives. The author will sign books tomorrow, Saturday 29 May at 7pm at the 5th Puente de Vallecas Book Fair (Bulevar de Vallecas, Calle Peña Gorbea), at Stand 9 of the Amaya Bookshop.
