On June 3rd the Teatro de la Zarzuela presents its new production, the zarzuela El rey que rabió, by Ruperto Chapí, with stage direction by Bárbara Lluch and musical direction by Iván López Reynoso.
Despite the exact 130 years that have passed since its premiere in this very theatre, the work retains intact the freshness of its fine irony and unbridled humour. The staging is completed by two very special casts. The libretto, by the hand of Miguel Ramos Carrión, is a sharp political satire, set in an imaginary country that indirectly alludes to Spain.
