The Fundación Euroamérica and the Casa da América Latina in Lisbon, in collaboration with the European Commission, invite you to the online seminar Latin America in the new EU Cooperation Policy: Development in Transition, which will take place on 1 June at 16.30h.
The President of the Fundación Euroamérica, Ramón Jáuregui (pictured), will give a welcome address, together with Alberto Laplaine Guimarãis, President of the Executive Committee of Casa da América Latina in Lisbon, and a special opening address by Francisco André, Portuguese Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. For decades, EU cooperation programmes focused on countries with a lower level of development, contributing in some of them in the region to the reduction of their high levels of poverty, placing them among the middle-income countries. The current reality, aggravated by the consequences of the Covid-19 crisis, identifies challenges that are common to both regions and which require progress in multilateralism. Participation is free of charge, but it is essential to register by clicking on this link to receive the link to the event. You can consult the programme at this link.
