The new Ambassador of Turkey to Spain, Burak Akçapar, hand over on Friday his Copies of Letters of Credence to the Introducer of Ambassadors the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Caridad Batalla.
Burak Akçapar, who until now held the post of Director General of Foreign Policy Analysis and Coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, replaces Cihad Erginay, who left the Embassy after less than two years in Madrid to head his country’s Embassy in Afghanistan.
Akçapar was previously Turkey’s Ambassador to India (also accredited to Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and previously “number two” at the Embassies in Washington and Doha. He was also posted to NATO’s International Military Staff and was vice-consul in Hamburg. Burak Akçapar is the author of three books and several academic articles in the field of international security, in which he specializes.
